10 weeks, 4 days

So its apparent that I shouldn't talk about my lack of throwing up b/c then I go and throw up. Monday lunch was the most recent time and the first time since my "horrible Tuesday" on the 6th. Today I wasn't feeling too great but no puking yet. :) Today was also my first "real" doctor's appt. I met with Connie, the nurse practitioner and since it was cold and windy, Pigpen came too. We talked to her a little before the exam and she went over how I was feeling and things like that. Apparently I've lost 5 lbs since the appt around 4 weeks which she didn't seem too concerned about yet since I told her how I was having so much trouble with nausea and vomiting. She told me to eat whatever I can so I can gain weight which is what I've been trying to do. She also told us about the genetic screening for Downs Syndrome which I think we're going to do and that time is coming up. I'll have to call Aetna to see if they are covered at all (doubtful) but we can hope! She did a routine Pap Smear and then we listened to the heartbeat which she said was sometimes hard to find, but she got it pretty quickly! As Pigpen said, at 169 bpm, its hard to think that's the machine picking up my heartbeat. :) It was exciting to have validation that there really is something inside there growing. It won't be real until there's some kicking I think!

Pigpen is down in Fredericksburg for his pesticide recertification class tomorrow so this is the first night I've been alone in the house all by myself! Very scary and cold! I miss him already.
