Almost 28 weeks

Tomorrow I hit 28 weeks. Hard to believe. I can't believe its the middle of May already! Mom and I just got back from a few days in NYC celebrating our 30/60 birthdays. We left Monday on the bus, got in around 2pm, went to the Jewish Museum and had dinner with Dr. Griggs. Tuesday we saw Ellis Island and the Tenement Museum with my godmother followed by The Marvelous Wonderettes. On Wed we went to a small garden in Central Park then to Rockefeller Center for a quick walking tour followed by Mamma Mia! at 2pm. Our bus left at 5:50pm back to DC and I walked in our door about 11:45pm. We stayed at the "nunnery." It was a quick trip but we saw a lot of fun things and it was good to go back to NYC. We did a TON of walking which was hard for me being 6 months pregnant, but probably good for me at the same time. I drank so much water but I think I am starting to retain water, particularly in my hands. My tummy is noticably big although not huge and for the first time, 2 people, without me telling them, acknowledged my pregnancy. I think I'm still getting used to it. :)

We were all set to have Grandma P buy a crib but the day we were going to do it, the crib we liked got recalled. Now Pigpen and I have to find time to go find another crib we like. Ugh! Tedious process.

Baby is still kicking up a storm at random times, usually when I am resting. She seems to be quite active at night which scares me. :) You can see my tummy move when she moves (rather than just feeling it if you touch my tummy) and it is very alien like, especially for Pigpen I think.

I did the gestational diabetes testing on Friday. Had to drink an orange drink within 5 min then sit for an hour before they took my blood. I haven't gotten a call from the doctor's office so I assume everything is fine. I go in for my next appt on Tuesday and then I start going every 2 weeks. Guess we're getting close! We have our first class on Mon night--a breastfeeding class.

I've had a horrible cough for about 2 weeks now. Its gotten MUCH better in the last week or so but its been a pain to have while pregnant, esp with the limited meds I've been able to take. I can't tell if it is allergies or a cold or something. All I know is that it has taken forever for me to get over it!

Below are the two latest pictures--26 and 27 weeks. We need to get better about taking the actual pictures on Saturdays. :)
