My goodness, where in the world is the time going! Cadence is 19 months old and is still the coolest kid ever. One of the funniest things is how much she loves going to the chiropractor. She can't wait to get up on the table to get adjusted, even if she isn't scheduled for that day. Too cute.
I found out a week ago yesterday (March 9) that I'm pregnant! What's insane is that that would make me due November 15. Whose idea was that?!?! And we're going to demolish our home and build a new one too! We found out about that (the appraisal came back) on Friday. We're in for a crazy year!
Cadence has mostly good days, and today seems to be one of them. Her only annoying habit is not letting me go into the office without her crying. She isn't allowed into the office (although she mostly has free reign over the rest of the house--all baby gates are gone) but she gets ticked when I go in the office to work. But right now, she's fine. It all depends on her mood. I have some music on for her so that might be helping.
She did go through a rough patch a month or so ago, that lasted for awhile, where she would SCREAM like she was dying if I went into the office, or closed any door on her. Luckily that has definitely improved.
Her sleeping has been the weirdest change. Before we went to Ohio (our first plane ride on 2/18!), she started crying out in her sleep, and sometimes not being able to calm down. That continued at Dad and Karen's and when we got home. It's gotten somewhat better--some nights we don't hear a peep, but others she cries a number of times or just once. Sometimes it's a lot of crying and I have to go in there, sometimes she just makes one short burst and she's able to go back to sleep on her own. Needless to say, it always wakes me up and I'm losing lots of sleep. I'm exhausted! I wouldn't say it's the 18 month wakeful period since she doesn't want to get up to play but it might just be her version of it. She also wakes up crying from naps and in the morning. I'm trying to yell so she can hear I'm coming and tell her she doesn't need to cry since it's sad to not hear her cute chatter and instead hear crying.
Poor baby had a stomach bug in mid-January that she and I both had. Then we managed to pass it on to Jenna, Wade and Brooke and then on to the Leonatos. Somehow James managed to avoid it. Luckily we got the least of it. It got worse as it was passed on!
Cadence did quite well on the flights to and from Ohio. Each flight was about 10 min too long as she was anxious to get out of James' lap and was fussy as the plane was landing. We sat in the very back row on two full flights but she was generally quiet and getting her a new toy (the mini magnadoodle) was a good idea. The first flight was right during her nap but she didn't sleep on the plane (no surprise) and conked out in the car on the way to dad and Karen's from the airport.
Her words are improving but still hard to understand. I'll make a list of her words in another post. She still signs but is more verbal. She is quite good at Oba and Pop Pop (trying to say Oma) but GramPam and Grandpa and Grandma are harder. We have mama and dada down!
At 19 months, she is quite good at knowing her body parts. I think I even took a video of her pointing to all of them. She's so smart. :) She is also doing really well with utensils and can use a fork to pick up things much better than even 2 or 3 weeks ago. It's amazing to watch her progress. She picked up running this past week and goes fast if you give her the chance. She still falls once in awhile but nothing dramatic and it's so cute to watch her run. She walked backwards today as well. I think those are steps towards being ready to potty train! She usually sits on her potty when I'm on the potty but doesn't have any inclination to try and use the potty. We'll get there.
We are heading to Victoria's first birthday party on Saturday! We are very excited. :)
