On Saturday, I officially hit the 30 week mark! Today I had a checkup (I go every 2 weeks now) and everything looks good. I'm measuring the right size for how far along I am, the heartbeat sounded good and my blood pressure and weight are normal. I was given a shot today (ouch!) since my blood type is A- and James is O+. It makes sure there is no interaction with my blood and the baby's since we don't know the baby's blood type yet (its the rh factor that matters--the positive or negative after the letter). I think I get that shot again when I leave the hospital. Lucky me. I do have a rash on my tummy that the doctor didn't think was a usual "pregnancy" rash but probably more along the lines of poison ivy, especially since its pretty itchy. We can only guess that James was the one who lovingly gave that to me since he has some poison ivy on his arms at the moment. The doctor wasn't concerned and I'm supposed to put hydrocortisone cream on it and if it spreads, I'll let them know. Guess James will have to wash his hands even more often from now on! I got the pre-admission form for the hospital today which I'll be sending in this week. Guess we're in the home stretch!

30 weeks!
From my update email to friends and family:

The weather is getting a little warmer, considering its now June. Tis life. We had our last handbell concert on Saturday, outside at the Botanic Gardens. The temps weren't too bad but it was windy which helped with the heat but blew our music around. Afterwards we all went to Capitol City Brewing at Union Station and had an end of the year party/baby shower for me, GB and Todd's wife Monica. It was really nice. We had good food, fun games (cut the string to figure out our tummy sizes, guess the baby food, finish the nursery rhyme and old wives tales on symptoms and if it means boy or girl since Todd and Monica don't know what they are having.) Pigpen came in for the party but not the concert. People were very generous with gifts which was really unexpected.
Cadence is a kicking little girl. I start counting kicks around 34 weeks they said today. Right now she is pushing on my tummy like crazy! She is mostly active at night when I'm on the couch or getting ready for bed.
We put a bookcase up in her room and are waiting for the crib. We bought some shades to put on the glass doors to keep out some light. Now we have to figure out what to do about the window air conditioner.
Dr. B ordered me some Old Navy maternity stuff since she has free shipping. It came today--full panel jeans, yay! I will try them on after my shower. Pants are the hardest part. I can fake the shirts, esp by wearing Pigpen's.
Picture from 29 weeks, although it was taken Friday, the day before 30 weeks. We're being slackers and need to get back on schedule. :)
