Today is our 3rd anniversary! Hard to believe the wedding was 3 years ago. We are headed to a nice dinner on Mom's bill at Cafe Renaissance tonight in Vienna.
Last night we got our crib! Baby 2 Teen called and said it was in, luckily about 3 weeks before they said it would. I was concerned that baby might come before the crib! We headed to Manassas to get the crib and get some stuff at Restless Wheels and managed to get home and get the crib inside before some really nasty thunderstorms came through. Baby can't sleep on a wet bed! :) We put the crib together last night and its really really pretty. Now we just need a mattress, some linens and a baby. I think we really did pick a good crib. It sure does make the room complete! Dad and K got us the Evenflo car seat (not the infant one) and I put it in the Buick to see how it looked and fit and everything. The smart latch feature is really nice! Makes me want to get a newer Honda so I can have it in my car. :) I keep seeing the carseat on the floor and I wish we had a baby to stick in it! But not yet--I don't want her to come too soon.
We've had to childbirth classes so far. We go to our third tomorrow night. Last time, we talked about comfy positions for me to labor in and we tried them out. We did some more weird Lamaze breathing techniques which are hard to concentrate on when you're not actually in pain. At the end of the class, we watched a birth which Pigpen handled like a champ. Some of the other guys in the class were a little freaked out--all I could think was, "really, you've never seen this even in a video, like in sex ed or something?" Its too bad the women in the movies are never good looking. :)
Below is my 30 and 31 week picture. Still getting big! Or maybe I'm not getting any bigger at all but she is barely fitting, I swear. She is still quite active, usually in the evenings and I can definitely feel distinct body parts. I'm excited to see the baby who is bumping around inside me. Its weird to not know what kind of hair she'll have or who she will look like and things like that. This whole pregnancy thing is so odd! Also, the poison ivy seems to have finally gone away thank goodness. That was killing me!
My baby shower is this Saturday. I'm looking forward to it!
