2 weeks old!

Cadence turned 2 weeks old yesterday. We celebrated by attempting to go out to eat--which went well! We had a little trouble waking her up at 6pm to get her to eat (took about 20 min to get her up) but once she ate a little, we went to dinner at Carlos O'Kelly's and she slept the whole time! It was nice to eat something we wanted to eat although everyone bringing food has been really generous. She has also been a trooper sleeper. The past two nights have gone pretty well--she almost seems to have a schedule although I think that is optimistic of me. We have tried to put her down around 9pm but she usually wants to eat one more time, around 10-ish before actually going down. Last night it was a bit later, more like 10:30-11pm but like the night before, she didn't get up until I woke her up at 2:30am or so to eat. Then she went down again until we got up at 5:30am to feed. Not too bad. She woke up a little early this morning to feed again--about 7:30 whereas I wanted to sleep a little longer but that's ok. I can handle that schedule.

Today I have a dentist appt at noon. We'll see how that goes! Breastfeeding is going better I think but the initial latching sometimes isn't the most comfortable. We're working on her getting her mouth open better. I need patience...

If only her umbilical stump would fall off! Sheesh!!
