The bestest baby is 15 weeks old

Wow do we really have a great baby. She is still an amazing sleeper, going to bed between 8 and 9pm (usually around 8:30pm) and sleeping until at least around 5 or 6am. The problem is, I’m not sleeping that long! I think the leaf season has my mind wired and I’m too stressed to sleep well. Hopefully in the offseason, things will change.

She really is a thumb sucker like her mommy. She even has a little skin rash on her thumb from where she sucks it.  It seems like her skin is sensitive like Pigpens since she gets little rashes on her cheeks if she lays in her spit while she sleeps or things like that.

She’s really grabbing at things more, with intention. She loves to grab her shirt, blanket or burp cloth and pull it to her mouth. I don’t think she realizes she has it—she just wants her hand in her mouth and the blanket happens to be in her hand. She is still a big smiler. SO CUTE.

In the last couple of days, she has started perfecting a whole new pouty lip. She’s had one since birth but it has gone to a whole new level recently. I even had to take a video of it. It practically hangs down to her toes its so pouty. I think that comes from me.  She only does it with what I call her half assed cry---not the all out wail that means something is wrong, which is very infrequent. In general, she really is just an awesome baby and doesn’t complain much. Even when she’s hungry, she’s not too bad. I usually feed her before she gets starving, about every 3-4 hours. She eats 5 times a day, around 5 or 6am, 9am, 1pm, 4:30pm and before bed, about 8pm. She is a way better sleeper than eater—she doesn’t always quickly take her bottle; it can take over a half an hour sometimes to get her to eat about 6 oz!

She is really a great traveling baby. We took her to Charlie’s twice last week to get the house cleaned out. She was great about just hanging out, putting herself to sleep on the couch, not fussing much and only needing to be held a little and just being super cute as we walked around getting stuff done. GramPam attempted the Baby Bjorn which was funny—its really sort of awkward if you’re not used to it. I have to be really happy that we have a great baby who doesn’t mind being toted around much. She’s not a great eater when she’s not at home but recently, she hasn’t really been a great eater at home either.

She has so many fat folds! The ones around her neck have led to some nastiness. It gets damp in there, but I’m not sure if its just from life or from milk getting in there but IT STINKS. We try to clean it at diaper changes but she doesn’t like lifting her head up that much. We wipe it out and blow on it.

She has definitely developed her tear ducts. She doesn’t use them often but when she cries, tears have started to flow. Another big development!

Her neck is SO strong. She really doesn’t bobble too much anymore, except when she’s tired. She’s more bobbly in her midsection but she’s working hard on those tummy muscles by lifting her feet up when she’s lying on her back.

She is MUCH better about tummy time. In the last couple of days, she has done an amazing job of lifting her head completely off of the mat and looking around. She still fusses after a few minutes, but every time she does it, I feel like its another milestone of strength. We want to make sure she gets in the crawling position!

She loves it when we blow in her face. Almost always makes her crack up after she sucks in a breath. Too cute.

Here’s a cute picture of us. Its a self portrait so it could be better...
