Baby girl is a big girl! She turned 3 months old last Wednesday and tomorrow she will be 14 weeks old. She is getting cuter every day. She still hates tummy time but is getting stronger and stronger with her tummy muscles every day by doing sit up like things in the carseat and on our laps. She loves to lay on her play mat and pull her legs up. Recently, she has started grabbing the legs of her pants like she is trying to get to her feet. Its really cute. She still babbles quite a bit, especially at mirrors and is a big smiler. She has the cubbiest cheeks and double chin and lots of fat rolls at the tops of her legs.
We had a big weekend since Grandpa and Grandma came to visit all the way from Ohio! Cadence was spoiled by lots of attention and picture taking. I was messing with her nap schedule but didn't do well with that. She still ended up with 4 naps--just took one later at night than she should have. But oddly enough, it didn't effect her night sleeping at ALL! Its funny how that works. Today I managed to get her to 3 naps by putting her down for her first nap a little later than usual, around 10:30 instead of 10am. That seemed to work a little better than trying to skip the noonish nap. But she freaked us out tonight by taking a 2 1/2 hour nap starting at 5:10pm! We didn't think she'd wake up but Pigpen finally went in making a bit of noise and got her up. She just went down for the night, a little later than usual. We'll see how things go. This morning she slept in until a little after 9am. She's not a morning girl but when she gets up, she's always in a great mood!
She is starting to show a bit of an interest in grabbing things but not completely. Most of the time she is accidentally ending up with blankets or burp rags in her hands and then chewing on them. She loves that left thumb, but not ALL the time. Daddy would rather her suck on the pacifier than her thumb b/c we'll eventually be able to take a pacifier away, not her thumb! We'll see what happens. She definitely doesn't suck her thumb ALL the time. Sometimes its her whole fist.
Her hair continues to grow and is getting long enough that it isn't as spikey and straight up. But it still stands up. We love it. Because of all her fat folds, esp around her neck, she gets moisture in there and it starts to get red and stinky so we have been using the hair dryer on low after her bath to dry it out. It also helps her hair be a little spikey. :)
She's an excellent baby and a great sleeper at night! She's still going from about 8:30pm until anywhere between 4 and 6am. Usually it is closer to 5 or 6am. If only I could sleep that well! For some reason, I'm having trouble getting a good long stretch of sleep. Its frustrating and I have no one to blame but myself. Oh well.
