She is starting to develop a routine. She's up about 7am, or within that hour, has a bottle, then goes down for 30-60 min. She has a bottle at about 10:30am followed by a nap which usually lasts about 2 hours. She has another bottle at 2pm, a nap (for about 2 hours at 3pm) and a bottle at 5 pm and again before bed around 8pm. The schedule seems to work well if everything goes on time. We skipped her "going back to sleep" time in the morning yesterday when I took her to GramPam's for the morning and things didn't well that day, despite a 2 hour nap there. I think a lot of it was the tooth.
She's very close to rolling over from back to front but she's not there yet. She won't quite kick her leg over. We try to entice her with toys but she always manages to flip back onto her back. I just hope we're both here to see it when it does happen! She's still really good at tummy time but hasn't shown any inclination to roll from her front to back yet.
She's a grabber! She's getting good at picking things up and the first place everything goes is straight to her mouth. I love watching her sit in her saucer and pick up her toys (she loves the Mexican rattle GramPam bought her!) and the concentration on her face! Too cute. She still loves the bath and I look forward to signing her up for a infant swim class later this spring.
We'll probably try a little rice cereal later this week. We will definitely have to get it on video b/c I have a feeling its going to be a mess! Anytime you put food near her mouth, she doesn't necessarily open her mouth to eat it--instead she puts her hand out to grab it. :)
She's still a smiler, at anyone who smiles at her! It cracks me up. She's finding her voice and trying out new vowels and consonents. She'll do a little "dadadadada" as a whine, but not necessarily if Pigpen is around. Somedays she'll say something purposeful! I'm trying to sign a little bit around her, especially "milk" when I give her a bottle but a lot of the signs require two hands and I virtually never have both hands free. Oh well. I'd love to be able to teach her mommy, daddy, hungry, finished/all done, and milk. I think those are very useful. We'll see!
