Eczema girl

Well, baby girl has ezcema. We knew that but a dermatologist, Dr Talanin, confirmed it on Tues. I was worried about what looked like hives that had spread to her chest and back but the derm. said it was just the eczema. He said it was pretty bad eczema--not the worst, but pretty bad. He prescribed two creams of different intensity (one for the face and one for the rest of her) that we're supposed to put on twice a day followed by eucerin cream. He also gave her a liquid antibiotic since eczema is caused by a bacteria under the skin. Amazingly, after one application of the cream/ointment and one dose of the antibiotic, she already looked better. A couple of days later and its like she's a whole new baby with new skin. It feels so soft and looks SO good! She's not a big fan of the antibiotic which smells horrible. K-dog says its supposed to be orange pineapple but its just gross. We have a dropper to give it to her with but she clamps her mouth shut when she sees it. The only way she'll take it is if we mix it in with her fruit. So we give her a tiny bit of fruit in the morning and her regular feeding around 5pm. She hasn't seemed to notice it luckily! The first dose was no good--I had to go to bells that night and I wanted to be there to give it to her but she was taking a good nap. She luckily woke up in time and we tried to give her the dropper but a lot dribbled out and then she almost immediately barfed after we got the rest in. We gave her another dose (and I was surprised how much formula was still left in her tummy since she had eated about 3 hours prior). That's when we decided to put it in the fruit. We go back to the doctor in about 10 days to check in (2 weeks after her appt. )

Today I took Poppa to the orthopedist about his shoulder and then we met Daddy so I could take her with us to see Nonnie. As usual, Nonnie loved seeing her and held her for awhile. Although she couldn't remember her name and kept asking Poppa, she thought Cadence was a well behave baby and very advanced. All the residents liked seeing her and I put her in the middle of the floor of the living room of Nonnie's house and she was cute for everyone.

She's sitting up so well now and you don't have to worry about a pillow behind her as much. We had a busy week showing off our skills by going to Oma's for the day so mommy could get some work done (but of course I didn't get as much done as I had hoped) and going to visit Kate and new baby Gwen, who is so cute! (and only about 4 1/2 weeks old). Cadence showed off all her tricks so Kate could see what she could expect soon. I found it hard to believe Cadence was ever as small as Gwen! I hope they grow up to be good friends. We've missed hanging out with Miss Brooke because Jenna and Wade were out of town at the beach. We should be able to catch up with them next week since there's another baby movie on Thurs.

Business is picking up and we're starting our new venture with Erika and Simply Landscapes. I have so much work to do and Cadence is really good about tolerating playing by herself but I still get interrupted to put her down, get her up or feed her. There aren't enough hours in the day!

She still have the same favorite toys but has recently loved going to Oma's b/c Oma bought a bouncy thing similar to a jolly jumper. This one doesn't go over the doorway but has a stand but has elastics that allow Cadence to jump everywhere. She first went in it on Wed when I took her over there and she got in it and immediately knew what to do. She didn't even smile--just looked around rather matter of factly like this is what you're supposed to do in this, duh. Oma didn't want the saucer we gave her anymore since she didn't need two similar baby toys so we brought it home. Its the one Junior LOVED to bounce in and its really noisey. Cadence has quickly figured out how to jump in that one too. Unfortuantely, the one we have from Cheryl doesn't make as much noise or bounce as easily but it has better toys attached to it. I don't think I can handle two saucers in the house though. Maybe one will head to GramPams. We've also recently pulled out some blocks and balls from Cheryl with little animals in them that Cadence likes. They are bigger than my colored 30 year old blocks and she's learning how to grip them well. We usually rotate her between the saucer, tummy time and sitting up on her playmat.

I got a Wii Fit Plus from Lori and Arthur for my birthday. The trick is finding time to do it! I really need to lose weight (I'm about 140), esp in my tummy. I'm about to be done with the progestin pill since I'm done pumping (and we only have two bags of milk in the freezer) so I'll go back to the Nuvaring next. THANK GOD. I'm not doing well with this whole pill thing, even with two reminders! I haven't pumped in about 3 weeks although if I tried, I could still squeeze milk out of my left breast. So overactive. :) I'm actually curious what nursing will be like with the next baby and if I'll psych myself out. No way to know until it happens!
