We're 11 days from Christmas and we're not ready! We don't even have the tree up yet! That's only because last week, when the weather was bad, we decided to rip out the outside wall of the living room and insulate it. Took a little longer than expected but we mostly finished it yesterday. We still need to paint the trim but we'll get to that sometime. :) We wanted to get the house back in order (living out of half of the living room sucked) before the Maids came today. We even cleaned the carpet again with Oma's cleaner. The house definitely needs a cleaning and I'm glad its right before the holidays. Hopefully we'll get the tree out one night this week and put it up.
After Cadence's 4 month checkup, she decided to start sleeping badly. For three nights in a row, she would randomly cry out in her sleep every couple of hours. For two of those nights, I had to get up and rock her back to sleep. It didn't take much effort and she didn't eat but boy were Pigpen and I tired! Not sure if it was the shots, teething, or what, but it could have been anything. There were too many variables! Last night was better--she slept well until 5am but then cried so I fed her. It was the first night in awhile that I wasn't able to pump before she woke up.
We finally introduced formula soon after her appt last week. She gets about half formula, half breastmilk in her bottles these days. I'm down to pumping 3 times a day instead of 4 but I'm still keeping up ok. My boobs hurt a little between pumpings b/c I'm going 7-8 hours but its fine so far. I still have a few bags in the freezer so we'll probably be able to keep mixing for awhile. She didn't seem to mind the formula although she now suddenly only seems to poop every other day. She actually seems to be slowing down on the spitting up but she's still quite burpy.
Everything goes in Cadence's mouth! We think she may be getting ready to teethe but she isn't drooling TOO much yet. (I'd know if she was b/c James would be grossed out. :)) She loves to chew on her toys, hands, burp cloths, anything. We'll have to see when the first tooth pops through!
She is starting to find her feet recently, esp on the changing table when we pull them up. I have her rattle shoes on her today to see if that helps.
We Skyped with Grandma and Grandpa yesterday and used the bumbo seat so she could hold herself in the chair and look at them instead of me holding her. Plus, I had my lunch to eat. She took a huge nap yesterday in the morning--2 hours (with a little wakeup break in the middle but I didn't go in her room). She really only naps about 45 min to an hour but Baby Center says that's probably fine. She usually take 3 naps but sometimes 4 if they have been really short ones. Today she is on her second nap and its only 11:40am! I think she would have stayed down from her first 40 min nap but she was playing and seemed to want to get up. Who knows. :)
She's doing great with tummy time and doesn't mind it nearly as much. She's still not rolling over but Pigpen is trying to teach her by putting her on the body pillow in our room and letting her "roll" off it. Who knows if that works but he likes it.
