For xmas we did the usual routine, this time with a baby! We went down to xmas eve at Aunt Dee and Alan's and C did quite well. She sat well during dinner and even went to sleep at their house and transfered easily to the carseat for the trip home and then into bed with just a little crying. She has slept pretty well each night, despite the disruptions to her schedule. Xmas day we woke up here and had the dilemna of putting her down for a nap soon after she got up to eat or keep her up and do presents then. We ended up putting her down for a nap early, then doing presents and before her next nap, we went over to Oma and Pop Pop's. We didn't want her to nap too long and not get over there in a timely manner. Oma made an AMAZING brunch with eggs and french toast and a great hash brown casserole that was really yummy. C took lots of short naps in her new pack and play that Oma bought but was generally in a good mood and loves playing in the saucer that was Jamie's that we took over there since we have Cheryl's here at home. We got lots of nice gifts (I got a ton of slippers and socks and Pigpen got lots of tools!) In the evening we headed to GramPam's and had dinner with the Lutz's since C, J and Valyn were in town. We took some cute pics of Valyn and Cadence sitting on a chair together. I hope they grow up to be great friends!
Dad and Karen came into town on Xmas but we didn't see them until the day after. We did xmas with them and Cadence got the musical play table and an umbrella stroller, both of which we hope she really enjoys!
Cadence LOVES her feet and its hard to get her to not play with them when changing her diaper. She likes to pick her feet up and roll onto her side, esp on her play mat in the living room but she hasn't quite gotten enough momentum to roll onto her tummy. Could be soon though!
We feel a tooth coming in on the bottom! She's been getting a little fussy sort of randomly and when she was gnawing on my finger the other day, I could feel that it hurt a little--there weren't just gums there. Its just starting to break through the gums so I think she's not a happy camper. We've been giving her some tylenol every so often which seems to help. Its funny to watch her eat something that isn't formula or breastmilk flavored. She doesn't quite know what to make of it. :)
All in all, she's still a really good natured baby. She's getting better about random people holding her. She likes to walk around if someone weird is holding her. She's big into checking things out and loves looking at herself in the mirror. Pigpen also has a great video of her chatting on his phone and she likes to watch that. Sometimes she even chats back. Too funny.
Did I also mention that last week, a week before xmas that we got about 20 inches of snow? A bit of a blizzard. Pigpen plowed for 60 hours in less than 4 days. He was a little pooped. But now things are still just a little bit snow covered (although most is gone) so we can't get back into leaves just yet. It was definitely a record breaking snow. We missed daddy while he was out plowing and we were stuck at home!
I got my period today, VERY WEIRD! Not expected. I guess it is what it is.
