I went to the doctor yesterday morning. My blood pressure was slightly up but still within the normal range. Apparently that is quite common towards the end of pregnancy. I weighed 150.1 lbs. Weird to see on the scale! The heartbeat sounded good and I was checked internally. Apparently my cervix is still softening and thinning but isn't opening yet. This was VERY good news as Shane's grandmother died on Sunday and he is in Texas for the funeral. We haven't heard from him (adding to our stress) about when he will be back so Pigpen is mowing all week. Not a good week to go into labor so we're hoping she holds on until Shane is back. It also hopefully means that Pigpen will have a baby free birthday this Friday!
I'm definitely still having up and down days. Yesterday I had the doctors appt and then ran a few errands at Target and Walmart and didn't feel well at the end of my trip. I was getting a little shaky although I didn't feel terribly hungry (since I grabbed a quick candy snack at Target) but it definitely put me in a down mood for the rest of the day. It was quite hot and humid yesterday which probably didn't help but It was frustrating that being out of the house for 3 hours did me in. I guess that's how pregnancy is.
So, I'll get checked at the doctor's again on Tuesday to see if there is any progression. I've seen Dr. W the last two times (when I got checked) and will see Dr. G this time. We'll see if she has any other opinions. I'd rather not get induced unless I'm past my due date but first babies are apparently typically late so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what happened. I'd rather not be halfway through August before she arrives though--its only going to get hotter! :)
My fingers and toes are still uncomfortably swollen most of the time. I try to stay as horizontal as I can but I don't know how much it helps. Really, only my crocs fit me well at this point. I look like I have the fattest feet ever when I wear my Birks!
My bag is packed for the hospital but I should probably check it again. I've been doing laundry neurotically so it doesn't get all piled up before she comes. The Maids are coming again tomorrow to clean again--shouldn't take nearly as long since we haven't pitted up the house that much since they were here 3 weeks ago. Its mostly just dusting and the toilets that will be the worst. Tonight we have to tidy up the house for them. Funny how that works. :)
Here's my 38 week picture:
