37 weeks along

And here we are, halfway to 38 weeks this Saturday and apparently full term as of this past Saturday. I don't feel much bigger than in previous weeks but I weigh almost 150lbs! I went to the doctor on Tues, and as usual, everything was fine. I wasn't supposed to be checked internally but I asked if I could be anyway since Mom wanted to know if there was a possibility of me delivering this weekend since she is headed to Staunton with the Crones. Dr. W checked and said my cervix was softening but hadn't opened at all so it wasn't likely. I asked about induction, which I don't really want to do until I go past my due date. Apparently they might induce if my cervix starts to open but I don't go into labor, I'm sure they would induce if my water breaks but I don't have contractions and they induce a week past my due date since the placenta isn't designed to work that long. Apparently inductions are Mon-Thurs. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Dr. W said they used to let women go 43 weeks! EEK!

I was out running around with Pigpen yesterday doing quotes and such and started to not feel well since I didn't have a snack or anything in the AM. We ended up having an early lunch but it took me awhile to actually feel better. I just felt sort of weak and shaky. Then I started cleaning the house in the afternoon--doing laundry, clearing out the fridge, freezer and cabinets of expired food and things like that. The house is still pretty clean from when the Maids came 2 weeks ago but they are coming again a week from today for a good cleanup before the baby comes. Shouldn't take nearly as long as last time as we've been trying to keep the house relatively clean.

We got a rocking chair from Charlie's and I bought some pads for it at Bed Bath and Beyond. It doesn't fit in the nursery so its in the living room which I think will work. Everything might get totally rearranged when she arrives anyway.

Its weird to think that everything we do could be the last time we do it with just the two of us. I made ravioli the other night and Pigpen said that it could be the last time I make ravioli and its just the two of us. :) Minor thing but he's right--it could be the last time we order pizza with the two of us or drive around quoting people or running errands, things like that. Just sort of weird. I hate not knowing when she's coming though!

I have resorted to sleeping on the TempurPedic in the guest room. Its just so much softer and feels better but I hate not sleeping in the same bed as Pigpen. I'm still getting up to pee at least 3 times a night but I'm able to fall asleep again quickly and pretty comfortably. I'm most worried that I'll get used to the TempurPedic again and not adjust well back to the regular bed once the baby comes. We'll have to see--I feel like what matters now is that I get as decent a sleep as I can get BEFORE she comes. We have discussed getting a TempurPedic topper for the queen bed (or a generic version) but I guess we'll see how the adjustment goes. It will be hard to tell since lack of sleep may be from the baby! :)

I'm trying to stay ahead of things and do the crew's schedule a week in advance. I end up getting them all together on Sunday or Monday, just in case. Maybe I'm jinxing myself. :)

We went to the Swiggs' on Sunday for brunch to celebrate the baby. L, B, J, M and their cousin were all there. Mom and Poppa came too and it was really nice. L crocheted some very cute bibs! Unfortunately, typically active baby didn't cooperate so M could feel her move.

Pigpen's b'day is coming up a week from tomorrow! Hopefully baby will come before or after that--they don't want to share a birthday!

Here's my 37 week picture:
